Overview
AML compliance is the set of laws and internal controls financial businesses use to detect and prevent money laundering — including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and reporting suspicious activity to the relevant financial intelligence unit. In software terms, it is the logic that decides which transactions get flagged, held, or escalated for human review.
Why It Matters
Regulators expect a risk-based AML program rather than a checkbox one, and fines against banks and crypto exchanges for weak controls have reached hundreds of millions of dollars. A monitoring system that floods analysts with false alerts is a problem too, because real cases get buried.
How Dotcode Applies It
We build transaction monitoring, screening, and case-management workflows as configurable rules rather than hard-coded logic, and add machine learning where it cuts alert noise, so analysts spend their time on real cases.
