ArteTV is a European streaming platform broadcasting cultural and documentary content across the EU. The platform needed to deliver high-quality, multi-language video content to a wide audience on both desktop and Smart TV devices (including Apple TV). The core challenges were setting up a reliable video player engine, managing high-traffic loads, and integrating with various third-party services such as Mux, Twilio, and Stripe. The platform also had to support multilingual interfaces and advanced content delivery workflows within a scalable, DevOps-friendly architecture.
We developed a responsive, multilingual web-based streaming platform using React for the frontend and PHP Symfony for the backend. The platform features a custom video player engine, fully integrated with the Mux Video API to support adaptive streaming, real-time playback tracking, and optimized encoding workflows.
For payments and subscriptions, we implemented Stripe API, and for communication and user interaction flows, Twilio was integrated. The project also included setting up Dockerized environments and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation, allowing streamlined deployment and infrastructure management.
The system architecture was optimized to ensure scalability during peak loads, such as during featured premieres or high-demand content drops, using smart caching and efficient delivery pipelines. The platform’s multi-language support included dynamic localization across all views and player interactions, making the content accessible to users across Europe.
